Aches

The fact tt i almost forgot my password for this blog signifies sthg..
feels like such a long time since i've been online bt actually it ain't tt long either..
whole bod's aching, nt too sure why either....

Last wk has been a veri busy bt satisfying work wk, proposals gt approved by the big bosses so nw it's time to lay out e red carpet n ged down to tying up e ends n of cuz writing up briefs....
Din find The Line buffet tt fantastic, Hanabi still rocks though...
As for Oktoberfest, it was rather fun, e locals were even more boisterous than e Caucasians and Erdinger's real gd, we ordered 4 more Baron's n Baron's strong brew din appeal to my tastebuds at all, i made a face whenever i took swig..
Din go to e gym today at all, a first time since i joined Fitness First, my body was jus aching, mebbi it has to do with age, hiakzz..
so i finally did some household chores, baked some bread n muffins, took a veri nice long noon nap n then hit e rds for a run.
A real sucky run, though..

I've always enjoyed my own company which explains why I do lotsa stuff alone but recently, been craving for some kinda companionship.
Such is life...

Went to the George Street outlet for e first time since i joined Fitness First n of cuz e niteview was simply splendid...went there to soak in e pool n njoy the resplendent nite view after my workout, swam to e edge of e pool, climbed up n below me was the totally stunning niteview of Spore...
Mused over stuff, over frens, over work n life itself.
Rather envy the NIE gang, they seem to be having so much fun....i seem to hv lost touch with much stuff, so many pple..
tt sometimes, i think i work out so much jus to numb myself..
Bt oh well, the Special prog at Fitness First for Nov-Dec has changed frm Taichi to Bollywood Dance!! woots!! jus wad I've been wanting to learn ever since our Bollywood themed DND..
tt's sthg to look fwd to, at least..

Flu woozies

Yeap, tt nasty flu bug is floating ard again n i think my foghorn cough is making a comeback too...

It seems like I'm exhausted every wkend, tt's cuz i squeeze in intensive gym workouts every sat n sun...
Yest half contamplated nt gg cuz i was reallie feeling e flu woozies bt decidd to go for it, afterall.
The gd thing abt exercising, at least for me is tt it always takes e edge off n i felt alright during e workout bt after i fin my workout, those stinker germs settled right back in their cushy zone n i was sneezing n coughing away again.

Had my first liaison lunch last wk...at a 2 star Michelin French restaurant, Raffles Grill by Jacques & Laurent Pourcel @ Raffles Hotel..
Lobster for appetizer, veal for main, some fancy blueberry sorbet with cream cheese for dessert, red wine n coffee.
Well, it's gd, esp e nicely cooked, juicy veal..
It better be, given e price...
Bt wad i enjoyed most was tt old world colonial charm tt pervades e whole of Raffles Hotel....veri nice n relaxing, reminded me of e time me n Wen went to Goodwood Park for the local high tea buffet...

Bt i'm so nt a wine n dine fine lady, hehz, I'm a bread n coffee ger instead..
Felt tt my usual lunch consisting of hmmade tuna mayo sandwiches washed down with dave's fantastic teh deserves a 2.5 Michelin star, at e veri least...

N another lunch scheduled tis coming wk...buffet lunch at The Line, Shangri La Hotel..
hehz, n i'm secretly pleased cuz my colleague n boss hv been raving abt e buffet at The Line bt scroogy me felt it was too ex to pay 50 bucks for lunch n almost 80 for din.
Nw tt i can try it for free... i'm def making a beeline for e dessert table for e scrumptious choco cakes tt A was so crazy abt n oso tt choco fountain where i can dip big, plump strawberries into...
Nippon chaps njoy French cuisine so i'll hv a few more French meals coming up...
When i first started work, I was wondering why we had info abt e types of red wine n etiquette tips, tis explains y..

Oct n Nov will be real busy...n e saddening fact, all cuz of a change in flight...my bdae which falls on a Sat will hafta be spent at e airport n working n all, Sunday's gone as well....
They say to pretend e din at Les Amis to be my bdae celeb..yeah, rite...
n to think i was so excited abt my bdae tis yr cuz for once in dunno hw many million yrs, i'm finally done with exams n wun hafta be buried under readings during my bdae..
Nw, without e exams to bug me, i gotta work during my bdae n over e wkend as well, bugger!

Boss said tis during a course to all e newbies abt our work..."Dun think tt all we do is wine, dine n entertain..."
Blooper...cuz i felt once she said tt, everyone will def think so... n tt is totally nt true, though it does make up a certain portion of our work..
anyway, e wining & dining is y i need to invest so many hrs into working out...
Last wkend, hit Fitness First with Wen, we went for spinning, body pump, ran on e treadmill, lounged in e pool n like wad she said, bitched abt work, tokked abt $ n our future...
She's reallie my best companion for almost everything...shopping, working out, gossiping, career tok, piggin out @ buffets...hehz, despite e fact tt we share no common frens at all!

Mon: 25 mins run on e treadmill
1 hr body combat (tough cookie)

Tues: 25 mins run on e treadmill
1 hr bodypump

Fri: 6km run
1 hr bodypump
30 mins cycling

Sat: Spinning class ( a killer)
1 hr bodypump
1 hr 20 mins bodystep (totally confusing)
Crunches plus 1.5 km cool down run

A run on e treadmill n if e sun's gd, i'm gg for a lazy basking sesh under e sun..need some tanning..

I spent like half e day at e gym on Sat, frm 1030 till 4 plus pm...
Was considering gg for bodyjam after bodystep bt my body cudn't take it animore, neither cud i make it for e run on e treadmill, had to stop after 1.5k..
ended up gg to e steamrm to relax first b4 bathing n gg hm n i was so pooped, i slept almost 15 hrs, i think..

Gabs interested in joining up for Standchart half marthie, we've been trying our best to rope her in, hehz..

Saw e banner on e rd e other day..."Standchart Marathon 2005, are u up for it?" N tot to myself...I'm def up for it since I signed up already, prob is i dun no whether I'm UP TO IT..sighhh..
Was considering skipping gym today n staying at hm to whip up a storm in e kitchen n jus bake some delectable delights (hehz, at least i find them delectable) bt no available ingredients at hm n too lazy to go buy so oh well...it's off to e gym again!

Hv been turning down frens a lot n i'm veri sorrie, it's nt reallie tt i'm too busy to go out, jus tt i designate onli 1 or at most 2 days a wk for gg out, e rest r my working out days & 1 day to be my rest day... hehz, once tt particular wk is taken up, e raincheck's gotta be a a few wks ltr..
Yupz...bt I still try my best to hv a decent social life..

n tokking abt beer, I went to Molly Malone's last wkend bt tis old Irish pub became a tad too boring n we hopped over to this pub with e freezing theme, Eskimo....inside temp was 10 degrees celsius, white interior with little fans blasting out cold air, tellies screening ski competitions..
They had run out of coats so there i was, positively freezing to death n Heineken beer din do much to warm me up..
Tried a new drink, Whiskey sour which tasted much like lime vodka...n din gif much of a kick..

Next wk is gonna make an absolute pig of me: Buffet Lunch @ The Line, Buffet dinner at Hanabi Jap restaurant n 3 course German meal washed down with beer at Oktoberfest..
I'll most prolly hafta spend e entire wk @ e gym, tt's if i dun hafta stay back in e office...

My bread of life is currently a nice brown toast,perhaps a little too burnt at e edges n hence a tad too tough to chew bt with an interesting variety of fillings n sauces to gif it a veri scrumptious relish at e end, e tang is there bt a certain sthg needs to be added to gif it a more wholesome flavour, i feel...

Pushing e limits

Sat: squeezed in a quick 35 min run on e treadmill b4 rushing off to Lovely's

Shtg quite funny...i was running next to a Caucasian guy n we both happened to sneak a peep at each other's dashboard at e exact same moment.
My spd was 10.8, his was 9.5 n immediately, he pressed his button continously till it hit 10.5 (hehza, i noe cuz i snuck another glance)
I mused.
A few secs passed n i notched my spd up to 11.0.
Hehz, figured a little competition will spice up my routine..bt i missed Body Pump with Julian AGAIN!!

Sun: 1 hr body combat (with Calvin)
1 hr body pump (him again)
20 min bike
40 min run on e treadmill

By e time i clambered on e treadmill, i was half gone bt tried my best to run at a slow, steady spd of 8.8.
Then went to lounge in e pool...went to the outlet @ Capital Tower bt din swim cuz i forgot my goggles.
The vexing thing was tt all e skyscrapers cast a shadow upon e pool lounging area n i did nt manage to catch much sun at all!!
Blimey Baloney!

Can't believe Bali was bombed again.
Was lazing on e sofa after getting back n my eyes fell on e Sunday Times n i was wondering why they had a bloodied pic on e front pg...
n i was contemplating gg to Bali some time soon...
Guess, it'll be a flurry of activities back @ e workplace tml..

Seems like we're getting all too much used to such terrorist activities...Will life ever be beautiful again for those who hv been thr such horrors?
I guess, one just has to keep faith...n plough on...

Realise i dun go out much often nw, perhaps cuz working out has kept me pretty occupied n i tend to shelve my social activities quite a lot nowadays...
nt tt i much mind, bt i miss my 2a pals e most, will be seeing Jj n gang tis Fri, though, yippeee!

okie, i'm trying to max my cross training bt i realise it's at e expense of my long runs..hven't done one for eons..
n on a totally diff subject, Dave's teh reallie is tops...i'm addicted to it!
It's a wonderful pick-me-up..n i'm thinking abt it nw...hehz...

Bread of Life

It's a Sat morn....i woke up at 7 plus, ate a pita sandwich n am jus lazing ard b4 hitting e gym ltr...
Feeling relatively at peace nw, guess it's e lull of e morn tt adds a soothing touch.
Work has been less hectic tis wk, more cuz of e fact tt bosses hv been out quite a lot...
Nostalgia has hit me pretty hard tis wk, for wad reason, i can't exactly put my finger to it as well.

Perhaps, hearing certain songs triggered those flood of memories...
bt oh well...
Recently, been asking myself wad i reallie want out of life. I dun wan to settle into a cushy, comfy routine which will make it hard for me to extricate myself in e future.

Training wise...
Mon: Sludge day, my screaming muscles after e wkend classes made me decide to skip Body Combat had me head hm for a veg day.

Tues: No exercise either! Baloney..

Wed: 40 min run at 5 am

Thurs: Swam 20 laps during lunchie
Ran 6km on e treadmill
10 mins on e elliptical
20 mins of strength training
Body pump with Calvin (Mr Macho Hunk, flawless looks, perfect figure bt he's GAY!! Diao!)

Fri: Ran 7.2 km on e treadmill
Relaxing dip in e pool at Fitness First OUB Center

Made lunchie for Gabs on Thurs...Onion pita with egg mayo, ham n tuna....glad she lurved it.
I miss making sandwiches for pple i care for....though of cuz i still make sandwiches for Mum dearie every morn...haz..

Fri was supposed to be hung out with e jc pals bt dear Soph cudn't make it last min n dear ger, i turned down 2 other apptments for our mthly gathering, haz...
In e end, decided agst calling other frens for a Friday chill-out sesh, wanted to go for the 640 Body Combat sesh at Capital Tower cuz Julian's e instructor bt cudn't make it in time n i checked out e OUB branch instead.
Decided to skip Body Pump to gif my muscles a rest since dg Body Pump today too n pounded on e treadmill whilst watching Anna & the King.
It was therapeutic to lounge in e pool at nite, all alone with e skyscrapers surrounding me...it was a lovely, misty nite..
Been some time since i last felt so relaxed n at ease n i did e craziest, unfathomable stuff!
Attempted some crunches whilst resting at e side of e pool, did some totally childish acts with e paddle float which I norm wun be caught dead with...
After e frolic in e water, headed for e steam rm then bath b4 i realised i lost my locker key!
Bummer bummer! 28 bucks down e drain...

Coming Mon's Sports Day again, sthg i much enjoy over e mthly Bowling event, gg to play a mean game of badminton....
n will be away on 2 days of course too...i shudder to think of e state of my inbox when i ged back.

Life is like a piece of white bread..okie, make it a piece of wholemeal bread...it's up to us to decide e spread or filling we want.
