Okie...rested enuff so am gg to blog abt this short but fun filled trip to Bangkok with my dearie 2A chums.
This yr marks one decade of our close frenship so this graduation trip holds veri special meaning to me n all of us as well...
Day 1: Friday, 6th May
Handed in Lockhart's paper, grabbed my bag n rushed out of e classrm, chucked my notes into e dustbin n flew down e stairs n into the waiting cab with yf waiting for me outside.
Felt this sense of exhilaration, excitement n rush of adrenaline..
Called best pal, Juan to update her n she was surprised I managed to make it out of NUS so early..
Settled down, caught my breath, felt hungry cuz had nt eaten my lunch yet.
Dug out e teriyaki chicken pizza a dear fren bought for me to ease my hunger pangs.
Tucked in with relish, it's veri gd!
Reached e airport, with a smiling Juan greeting us at e entrance.
1703! 2 mins before e final check in time.
After checking in, gaf Juan a hug n off we go!
Lotsa chattering on a plane, e 6 of us sat in 3 separate rows...
Lian settled to read her Guide on Thailand, me read a letter frm a fren...
Ordered their Arabica coffee...supposedly frm premium quality coffee beans bt it sucks la, totally nt worth 3.50 bucks...
Touched down, a rush of hot air greeted us as we stepped out of a airport..
Shud be almost 36 degrees!
Took 2 cabs, reached Mandarin Hotel, deposited our luggage n trooped off to the nite mkt near our hotel..
First, dinner had to be settled n after much hassle, decided on this rather posh looking Thai Italian restaurant.
We ordered Thai green curry chicken, Thai fried noodles, fried rice n fruit juices..
Their mango juice rocks!
Nite mkt next...bargaining was super fun..hahaha..."Gimme more", "Hw much u can pay?"
Sleazy area, red light district....striptease shows..n poor me gt groped e most no of times, i think....6 times....those Thai guys standing at e entrance wud jus come up to u, place their hands on u, caress u n try to pull u over to their nite joint..
Shopping, shopping, shopping..
Back to hotel...nitetime...
Day 2, May 7th 2005
Woke up at 530 n tot it was 630 cuz did nt adjust my hp time
Went to rouse e others onli to hv them grumble at me after they found out e real time.
Tucked into hotel's brekkie at ard 7 plus..
Set off at 8 plus for Chatuchak, BKK's biggest wkend mkt.
Weather was super hot, shud be 36, 37 degrees..
Piled into a cab n set off in high spirits..
Chatuchak is reallie a maze....bought local products there, tried the veri nice iced coffee at their coffee hut..
Sweaty, hot, bothered, hassled
All of us were glad when we had settled our purchases.
Headed back to hotel to deposit our stuff.
Next stop...MBK complex...One of BKK's biggest shopping complex..
Ate ramen at Oishi restaurant n more walking n shopping...
Went back to hotel n all were veri exhausted...
Walked out with e intention of hving dinner nearby at some Thai eating place bt started pouring when we stepped out n we retreated n settled for the hotel's Thai restaurant instead...
The atmosphere was gd, dim lighting, authentic Thai feeling bt the lounge singer was horrible..
After dinner, went to the cafe at the hotel n ordered desserts, settled down to gossip, stretching all e way back to a decade ago...
Trooped back to our rms, bed time..
Day 3: May 8th 2005
After brekkie, headed for Chao Praya River, sat on e river boat n reached e National Palace bt cuz of our attire, we were nt allowed access.
Headed to Chinatown instead......lotsa shopping!!!
Wholesale marts there so stuff were super super cheap..
Ate at Hua Seng Hong restaurant, tucked into their sharks fin, bird's nest, dim sum, roasted duck, stir fried vegs..
Headed to MBK complex again..
Said bye to Mindy who's leaving one day earlier
Went for Thai massage..Ouch! n eh, i gt a male masseur...totally weird, to hv a guy pressing my thigh n butt n hv this grown up male specimen standing on my back...
Then me n cy went for their facial...
Had dinner at their food court, went bowling at the disco bowling alley...
Back to hotel, card playing...bedtime!
Last day: May 9th 2005
Last brekkie at hotel, spent a longer time over brekkie...
Had our usual fare of ham, scrambled eggs, toasted bread, French toast, cereal, porridge n spaghetti as well....coupled with coffee, hot milk, OJ, tomato juice..

Went back to hotel, did some final packing n off we were..
The cab broke down at the hotel waiting area....thank gawd we started off early n Biley (our cabbie) gt e porters to help push e car..
Long, hot, tiring journey to the airport..
All of us fell asleep....Yawnzzz
Reached e airport, bought some sandwiches to eat on e plane...
Nice, relaxing trip back hm...
Listened to some songs on e MP3, looked out of e airport window, reread a letter...
The skies gradually darkened...
Touched down at Singapore...
