Had a great day!
Woke up to a raging storm, whipping rain....
n started to prepare myself for e buffet ahead..haha, swiped my usual toast for low fat yoghurt, drank my coffee..
Torrential sheets of rain...trundled off to e gym, gt onto e treadmill n did a short run of 6 plus km..
Gt back, realised time was running short, hurriedly changed n out i went..
Heez, met my fave shopping khaki Wen for hi tea buffet at Goodwood Park Hotel..my fave hotel ever... Rustic, old world colonial charm...jus brought back nostalgia of those olden days...gt a whiff of history as i sat in e serene surroundings, immersing myself in the sheer charm of e place..
Heez, i hope to hold my wedding here someday...cuz i feel tt the hotel looks like sthg out of a fairytale story....a kingdom...hee hee, so I'll feel like a princess if I were to hold my wedding here...plus i figured witches kinda fit into fairytales too, dun they? heeZ....
Had a bit of everything..frm meesiam to roti john, laksa, creme brulee, chocolate mousse, bread n butter pudding, coffee cake, mixed fruit cheesecake, cream tarts, ice kachang, movenpick ice cream, dim sum nt to mention e various perenakan desserts..
Yum yum! N yeah, a zillion calories consumed too.....
Bt it was such a great feeling, to jus sit back, relax, talk to a gd fren over a cuppa hot tea n some noon delicacies...gaze out at e drizzle through the large paned windows...listen to e soothing lounge music...laying out our future plans....n at such a truly enchanting place too...one tt had us enraptured right frm e start...one with a historical heritage tt gets one thinking abt old, long forgotten days...
I harked back to those old colonial times n imagined British wives sipping their tea daintily whilst exchanging gossip n trivials...
Wad did they think of this little tropical island then?
Hw was Singapore like?
What did Orchard look like back in the 1920s?
We spent hrs over tea n by e time we left, they had oredi laid out dinner buffet....
Bt this muz be e best buffet i've been to...
It felt as if we were in another world of our own, tucked away in this cosy corner of a magical kingdom, watching e rest of e world pass us by whilst we weaved our dreams n fantasies...
Girlish dreams no more...as we grapple with e realities tt will hit us once we enter e working world...
The last time me n Wen gt tog was so long ago...n nw as e 2 of us reach e threshold of our lives....embarking on a new phase tog....pondering over life's uncertainities...sharing our viewpts on love, romance n marriage.....
It jus makes me treasure frenship ever more...
Heez, our target for our next buffet getogether will be at Royal Plaza Hotel on Scotts...hee hee, hi tea too!
N yupz, we'll be slinking off to Kl for a short getaway....budget budget for me, i'm broke after BKK plus Korea's looming...
